The club

Who we
actually are

A few dozen people in Omaha who found each other through running and then could not get rid of each other. Some of us are chasing Boston. Some of us are chasing the person in front of us to the bagels. Both count.

The week, on repeat

  1. Tue

    Track

Intervals at Burke. Three pace groups off the same line.

  2. Wed

    Shakeout

Easy miles from Stinson Park before work.

  3. Thu

    Tempo

    Comfortably hard on the Keystone.

  4. Sat

    Long run

Loops of Zorinsky in packs, any distance you need.

  5. Sun

    Coffee

Three slow miles and a long sit-down in Blackstone.

Friday is a rest day. Monday is whatever you need it to be.

Fair questions

How fast do I have to be?
Fast enough to get to the trailhead. There are people here running 5-flat miles and people running 12s, usually within twenty feet of each other. Every workout is written with groups so nobody is out there alone.
Do I have to pay anything?
No. There are no dues, no membership tiers, and no sign-up form. Merch will cost money eventually. The running will not.
What do I do on my first night?
Turn up ten minutes early and say you are new. Somebody will take you to the right group. If that sounds like a lot, come to the Sunday coffee run instead — it is three miles and mostly talking.
Why a winged horse?
Ak-Sar-Ben is Nebraska spelled backwards, and the Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben have been putting a pegasus on things in Omaha since 1895. We took it, because a horse with wings is a reasonable target to train toward.

Come Tuesday

Say hello in the Discord first if you want, or just turn up. Both work.
